Dreams of Cracker Barrell

In case none of you know I am now a waiter at Cracker Barrel. I worked from 3 to close tonight. It is a great atmosphere to work in. The head manager is a Christian and the staff is made up of a majority of Christians. This makes the atmosphere in the back more positive than in other places I have worked. I actually look foreward to working. The customers are of a different caliber too. 90% of my tables are old people. The rest are travelers. It's interesting to hear their stories.
One thing I've noticed is that there are a lot of loney people around here. I get a lot of single tables and the person just wants to talk. I love talking and since I have come to West Virginia I too have been at times lonely. I can empathise. I try to do what I can without getting into trouble. I'm not as spiteful of the population here as I was in Spartanburg. I don't know if it's because of the people here or that I've changed. Maybe a little bit of both.

Tonight is Daylight Saving. Hope you turned your clocks back.

We got to dress up for Halloween at work today. I went as myself. I always wanted to wait tables in my regular street closes just once. I got the chance today.

Well I'm going to bed now. I am looking foreward to going to church in the morning. It's been a long time since Sunday mornings were joyful for me.

Goodnight everyone
God Bless you all...

Explosives update...

At noon today the Pentagon had a press conference about the missing explosives. Apparently the US forces moved the explosives. The AP is reporting more confusing reports that are contrary to what the Pentagon has said. Those reports are from UN bureaucrats. So you can imagine how authentic and reliable those are.

I just found out tonight that Amherst lost to Avon lake 31-7. Amherst goes 9-1 and still make the playoffs. My brother's team (10-0) still sets the standard for Amherst football. Good luck comets in the playoffs.

Highschool Football, missing explosives and Democrats

What an eventful morning I am having. It's raining again. I swear West Virginia has a monsoon season. I commute to college so I left early to compensate for the slower speeds I will be travelling. After a half hour of hydroplaning I made it to the WVU campus.
Let me explain to all of you the campus. The one part of campus is located in downtown Morgantown. The hospital, colliseum, and creative arts are located on the other side of town in an area called Evansdale. The distance is too far to walk to go from one part of campus to the other so WVU built a factsimile of the Dinsey World monorail called the PRT (Public Rapid Transit). It runs on electric rails above ground so when it rains or if a squirrel is unlucky enough to touch the rails then it breaks down. Nothing better than to look out the PRT window and see dozens of fried squirrels.
The PRT broke down this morning and the local bus system normally picks us up when the PRT is down. There were no busses to be found. I went into the restroom and changed from my jeans into my gym shorts, put my backpack on my back and ran to class. There is a bike trail next to the PRT rails. It took me ten minutes to jog to class from Evansdale to Downtown. I'm a tad bit wet but I made it to class. The other students in my class walked in about half way through class. They were astonished I made it to class on time. Gotta love running.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL!!!
I frequent a website sponsored by my hometown and county. It's called www.loraincounty.com. This website keeps me up to date with local politics, happenings and high school sports. So I am happy to say that my High School alma mater Amherst Steele Comets and our arch rivals Avon Lake Shoreman will compete for the division championship tonight.
Both teams are 9-0 and the winner of this will remain undefeated and win the South Western Conference. The local paper (Elyria Chronicle) did an article and stated that it has been over 40 years since two high school teams in Lorain County were undefeated and competed for the division championship.
Amherst has just recently been playoff contenders. In 1992 (start of my senior year) Amherst went 8-2 and made the playoffs for the first time. In 1995 (my brother's senior year) they went 10-0 beating undefeated Avon Lake in week 5 and making it to the playoffs. This should be a good game. Go Amherst Comets!!!!!

POLITICS
Micheal Moore was at a local college yesterday. He yet again keeps scaring college kids with lies about a draft. This man is one of the most dishonest people out there. His movie Farenhiet 9/11 was full of lies and implications that mislead people. The sad thing is that people that don't think for themselves believe this stuff. You should hear some of my cousins. It's sad really.
So what's up with those missing explosives? NBC says they weren't there when they secured the area. ABC shows video that says otherwise. But let's not forget that it was ABC that believed and reported on false documents and then tried to pass them off as real. Who's to say the video is valid? Who knows.
4 more days until the election. Kerry is out telling black people that Republicans are trying to stop them from going to the polls. Kerry says that Bush is to blame for no flu vaccine. Kerry is telling everyone there will be a draft. It just keeps getting more outrageous. Apparently if something bad ever happens then it is Bush's fault. So if Amherst loses to Avon Lake tonight I should vote Kerry. If I get a pimple on my face then I should vote Kerry. I can't handle 4 years of listening to this man's prattle. Kery knows he's a weak candidate with no record. He knows that if he keeps making Bush look worse than him that Kerry will be elected as the Bush alternative, not as the better candidate. America did this once before and we were stuck with Jimmy Carter. You would think America would learn it's lesson.
I got a phone call from the Democratic Party in West Virginia. They want me to vote for their candidates. I told them no. They asked why. I made it plain and simple. West Virginia is a hole. It is the worst state I have ever lived in. The state is 7th in the nation in taxation and 48th in the nation in per capita income. The state is hostile to business and the capitol is corrupt and ran by career politicians. It has been like this for 70 years. The Democrats have ran this state by a margin of 3(dems) to 1(rep) for 70 years.
Insanity is when you do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result. People here vote Democrat and expect things to change. That's absurd. The argument here goes like this:

Which political party runs the state of West Virginia? Democrats
Which political party has ran the state for 70 years? Democrats
Who's fault is it that West Virginia is a horrible place? Bush and the Republicans!!!

Do you see what's wrong with that line of reasoning? At least the people of California were smart enough to see Democratic policies don't work and got rid of Gov. Gray Davis. I have never voted straight ticket before but I will this Tuesday. The only thing that will help West Virginia is to get rid of anyghing with a (D) next to it. There's a guy running for state office that is over 90 years old. I guess he wanted his old job back instead of going to a rest home. I won't vote for any man who can't eat solid food and poops in diapers.

FAMILY
We're still working on the house. We got the kitchen and the computer room completely dry walled. Now we have to do the ceilings in the living room and dining room. I'll post pictures later.
My grandfather fell and broke his shoulder. Please keep him in your prayers. He's not in a good situation and he needs better care than what my family in South Carolina can provide. My grandmother has health problems of her own and both my aunts are in college. No one can be with him full time. I know that my aunts and grandmothe do their best but right now that may not be enough. Pray he comes and stays with me and my parents a few weeks to heal.

That's all for now boys and girls.
I'll chat with yall soon.

That's me!!! Posted by Hello

5 more days till election day...

I'm letting my nails grow so I have something to bite on election Tuesday.

It's comming down to the wire. Rasmussen has Bush up by 2 and all the electoral predictions have Bush winning the states that matter. As an ardent Bush supporter I am clinging to these small but positive numbers as a good sign.
I live in West Virginia which is a predominantly Democrat state. Bush took WVA in 2000 and it looks like he will again. He's up by 5 points here. This state is so poor and the people here work hard at not working. The mentality here is that if your neighbor has something better than you then you do everything in your power to take it. Not a good thing.
The spiritual mindset here is about as bad. Most of the area is Catholic due to the Italian majority make-up of the population. Then there are Church Of Christ's which are legalistic and ant-social. That leaves only a select few other denominations that have their hands full trying to feed and take care of the masses.
My own journey of finding a church here has been fruitless until recently. I was talking with some relatives about starting a church in my area. They thought it was a good idea. I got online and was searching for ways to start a congregation when I stumbled upon a webpage for a church in the next county. They had sent a few pastors and a few people to start a plant church in my county. I quickly contacted them and told them I would worship with them Sunday. To my suprise I quickly noted that this church was exactly what I was looking for and what my area needs.
I quickly gave them the "Here am I send me"! I had a lunch meeting with the head pastor this past Monday and he told me about their plans and what they believe. All signs point to great things. This area needs a group of people willing to share the love of Christ to the community.
My words of wisdom for the day are as follows: If you truly seek you will find. That's not just a feel good jingle you find in the bible. Just don't give up and God will direct you on the right path. Whether it be the direction of salvation or placing you in a body of believers where you can be effective, He will make your path straight.
Well, I gotta get ready for my History class. We are currently in the early 1800's and we're studying the events that will eventually lead to a stronger national government and the war of 1812. We haven't gotten to the Indian holocaust just yet. Got a musical recital to attend tonight at 8:15. Hopefully it's not anymore of that awful 20th century compositions.
