OK. I'm back!!!
I had to take a time out. With lifting, running and college starting up again, I have been all over the place. It's hard to juggle all of these things into one cohesive shedule. I'm getting closer to it though.
Without any real distractions (year right!) I have been able to come up with this type of schedule:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday: I get up around 5am and prepare to be at the FSU gym by 6am. There I lift and run on the poor excuse of an indoor track. After I calm down from running in a rat maze, I take a shower and make myself look semi-presentable and head for class. For those that don't know, the indoor track consists of 350 meters of twisting and winding mondo. Most tracks go in a circle. NOT THIS ONE!!! It's a maze. One day I'm gonna stop someone on the track and ask them for directions....
My first class is World Literature. It's one of those required useless classes that is supposed to make me a well rounded person. I'm already well rounded and I go to the gym to firm my roundness up. I enjoy the class because my teacher is smart and likes the same cynical pop culture that I do. It's the only class so far where I've seen a Violent Femmes video!!!
Second I have Spanish. I like the way my professor teaches the class. I am excited and scared about learning Spanish. I'm excited because I believe I will use this language in the future but I'm scared because I'm afraid I will fall behind. I don't like being behind. There are so many words to memorize.
I have a 3 hour break and this is when I come into the library. If you are reading this then you know I have been to the library and decided to write in my blog. I also check my mail and do any type of research I need to do for class.
My next class is Public Administration. So far it's quite boring. Except for my professor praising Bill Clinton as if he was some type of diety. I often times have to raise my hand and bring him down to earth. It's funny. I remember the nineties and I can say that both of us definitely remember it differently. Isn't selective memory wonderful?
Before I must go I must talk about the FSU breakfast. I went into the cafeteria and had the most God awful breakfast ever!!! My bacon had hair in it. My scrambled eggs were soaked in water (what's up with that!!!). My pancakes were rubber and I had to rip them apart with my hands because a knife wouldn't cut them. I have seen better food at homeless shelters!!!! The funny thing is...The breakfast was "ALL YOU CAN EAT!!!"
I guess I'll be brown baggin it from now on...

Mission Accomplished
I am officially a student at Fairmont State University, otherwise known as Fairmont Community College. hee hee.
I spent 4 hours speaking with advisors and campus faculty so I could learn more of the campus and it's ins and outs. I don't plan on mocking the campus anymore due to the fact that I will be involved in the campus ministry team. I don't know what my role is with that yet. I have to sit down with Pastor Seth and Dustin (who is AWOL this summer) and find out what our purpose and vision is for the campus. I am excited.
I am taking a Chemistry class. Heaven help us all!!!!!
I will actually be finished early from Fairmont State. It seems that I have taken a majority of my Poli Sci requirements and now I have to take some Mickey Mouse classes to graduate. So I'm loading up on classes and should be done in less than a year. Then I can get a real job!!!!
I must also say that I have gotten a lot of the tasks done that needed done while I was gone. All is well in the world in that area and I will continue to keep things on track.
As for Matthew. I can only say that Friday can't come any sooner. I am looking foreward to my Mom driving him and my Aunt back to Wythville to drop them off to my Grandparents. Yay! I love them dearly but Matthew drives me nuts. He noticed my Darth Vader helmet and now he won't leave me alone. So I told him that if he wears it he will turn to the dark side and hurt everyone around him. That seemed to do the trick....for now. It's amazing what this kid will buy into. He's a future Democrat...
I made my triumphant return to the gym this morning. I had a great time. It was wonderful to get back. I started day one of my workout again. It has some of my favorite exercises and some new ones too.
First I did chin-ups. I'm supposed to do 50. Arnold says that you don't have to do them consecutively but I could do 10 sets of 5 or 5 sets of 10. Since I am not a real good chin-upper, I did 10 sets of 5. If I keep chipping away at the chin-ups I should one day be able to do 50 consecutively. It's a goal I hope to reach. The only thing I don't like about chin-ups is that when I get tired my stomach feels like when you climb a rope in gym class or going down a hill on a roller coaster. I always feel like I'm gonna pee myself. So I stop. Yes, I'm a wierdo!@!!!!
Next I did my favorite exercise, the bench press. I didn't go all out since I hadn't been in the gym for almost two weeks. Staying up till 3am with friends was fun but it's a killer to going into the gym:-). I was able to do some moderate sets and them move on to the Incline press.
The Incline press is a challenge sometimes. It's the most inconsistent exercise I do. Some days I'm able to control the weight and some days it seems like I can't. Today was one of the days I had trouble. I felt out of breath after only a few reps. So I took a time out and returned to finish my sets. I'm glad I took the rest. I bumped up the weight and hit that mutha like a red headed step child....ah yeah!!!!
Next I did pullovers. These are quite interesting. I had to lay my upper back on the bench and pull a weight over my head and back again. It opens the rib cage, which is something I need. I have lost a lot of lung strength since I haven't been running and this exercise will open the ribs and allow my lungs to take in more oxygen. Not to mention it will make the V-shape every man wants more defined.
From there I went over and did Bent Over Rows. I wear a belt for these so I don't cheat. These feel good to do and I can do a lot of weight because I have a strong back.
The second to last exercise was the Dead Lift. I didn't do a lot of weight this time because last time I was in pain for almost 3 days. I did enough to push my back but not kill it. I'm quite proud of myself for this considering I can do over 400 pounds on this exercise in the past. I won't be doing that for a few weeks though.
Finally I did my abs. I did the required crunches. I did enough to get the burn but not enough to feel like somebody stabbed me in the stomach tomorrow.
All in all I give today's workout an A. I ran my mile at high velocity and will continue to get my mile under 5 minutes. Once I reach that point I will be able to run my 400m under 50 seconds in competition.

Back to Business at Hand...
Nothing gets done when I'm gone.
And my parents wonder why I am so frustrated all the time...
There is a list of tasks that needed to be done while I was gone. None of these items were completed. There is literally a 4 foot pile of clothes that needs to be washed. That is not including the clothes I brought back from my trip. So tomorrow on my day off I will be working on all the things that should have been done while I was gone. Thanks mom and dad!
Plus I have to go to Fairmont State University and find out why I haven't gotten an acceptance letter or anything for that matter saying I'm enrolled there.
The most important item on my agenda is to talk to the manager in charge of scheduling at Cracker Barrel and make sure I am not working in the evening of August 8 through 11. That is VBS. I can't miss that.
I will be returning to the gym. I don't plan on waiting for my mom to go with me. If she can't get up at the designated time and be motivated to work out then tuff. I've had it.
Again....They wonder why I'm in such a bad mood all the time....
