12-27-11

The Long Trip Home... I left Sioux Falls around 4am. I didn't get much sleep so I downed a few Monster energy drinks on my trip. I was able to see Iowa during the day. Most of the day actually. I spent 8 of the 15 hours in Iowa. I traveled half the height and all the length of Iowa on route 29 and 80. I love he windmills in Iowa. They are the large kind like in Palm Springs. Very tranquil. Not like those smaller propeller windmills that spin so fast you expect them to take off. My trip was relaxing and I took time to stop and take in some sights. The trip got anxious when I got to Chicago. I got there around rush hour. Not good. When I got to Indiana I hit freezing rain. I wasn't expecting this. I check the weather before I left and it said clear skies all the way home. I was a tad bit disgruntled over this weather oversight. It didn't help that every snowplow was out. It looked like they were preparing for a huge storm. I got home around 11pm. I was happy to get into my bed and crash. I was pretty darn tired. Charley was happy to see me. I think he missed me. :-)
